Boxing Ireland is marking 30 years of the Community Employment Scheme.
The Community Employment (CE) programme is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed (or otherwise disadvantaged) to get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities.
Boxing Ireland, in partnership with the Department of Social Protection, has been providing employment and opportunities through the scheme for almost two decades.
CE Scheme Supervisor, Lisa Doyle, accepted a commemorate plaque today maring the occasion, bestowed by DSP Community Development Officer Jennifer Caul.
National Stadium CE Scheme participants make a vital and systemic contribution to the life of the building, including ring set-up and take down for boxing events, building cleaning, events assistants and much more.
