National Calendar & Competition Entry

Central Council has confirmed the 2026 National Calendar, which includes 9 club-run Box Cup competitions and 14 national-level events. Dates and venues may be amended.

Entries to national-level competitions take place through the club’s online portal

Please note that:

All boxers submitted for national-level competition must be registered members of their club, and explicitly named in the club’s online portal.

As part of the entry process, clubs must register two coaches per boxer; these coaches will sit at first and second corner:

First Corner/First Position: Boxing Ireland Level 1, Boxing Ireland Level 2, International level 1, 2 and 3 coaches

Second Corner/Second Position: Fundamentals, Boxing Ireland Level 1, Boxing Ireland Level 2, International level 1, 2 and 3 coaches may sit at second corner.

Late entries will not be accepted. Entry fees are non-refundable.

*with the exception of entries to the Boy/Girl 1,2 & 3 National Championships and the BG4, Junior 1 and Junior 2 Championships. Boxers qualify for this championships through their Provincial Councils. Provincial Councils manage the entry process on their behalf.

January | 2026 National Elite Championships

This competition, for Elite athletes aged 19 to 40 by year of birth in 2026, will take place:

January 9th, 10th and 11th, and January 16th and 17th.

The number of days boxed will be dependent on entries.

January | 2026 Ireland Futures Cup Competition

Boxing Ireland will hold an Ireland Futures Cup competition from January 30th to February 1st. Boxing on January 30th and 31st will take place at the National Stadium, Dublin. The location of boxing on February 1st will be confirmed presently.

This competition is taking place in consideration of selection for the World Boxing Futures Cup, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand from March 8th to 15th next. Invitations to compete in the Ireland Futures Cup have already issued to the then club of any applicable boxer who boxed at semi-final or finals stage of the 2025 National Junior 1 Championship and/or the 2025 National U17 Championships. Boxers and clubs who wish to participate in the Ireland Futures Cup must accept this invitation by 5pm on Friday, January 23rd by confirming same to National Secretary Tara Robins Mari via secretary@iaba.ie. Any requests for weight change must also be submitted to the National Secretary by 5pm on January 23rd..

March | 2026 National BG4, Junior 1 & Junior 2 Championships

These three championships will be boxed concurrently on the following dates:

March 6th, 7th and 8th, and March 13th, 14th and 15th.

The BG4 Championship is for boxers born in 2011.

The Junior 1 Championship is for boxers born 2010

The Junior 2 Championship is for boxers born 2009

April | 2026 National BG 1, 2 & 3 Championships

These three championships will be boxed concurrently on the following dates:

April 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th. 

The BG1 Championship is for boxers born in 2014

The BG2 Championship is for boxers born 2013

The BG3 Championship is for boxers born 2012

April | Ireland Four Nations Qualifier

Venue: TBC 

Dates: April 17th 18th 19th

Age Requirements: Box off of champions, National  Boy/Girl 2 & Boy/Girl 3 and box off of champions from National Boy/Girl 4 & Junior 1.

May | National Under 19 Championships

Venue: National Stadium, Dublin.

Dates:  8th, 9th, 10th, 15th 16th May 2026

Age Requirements: 2008-2009 inclusive

May | Celtic Warrior Box Cup

Venue: Collinstown Sports, Clondalkin

Dates: 1st, 2nd and 3rd May 2026

June | Wild Atlantic Box Cup

Venue:  Tallaght Leisure Centre

Dates:  20th, 21st ,22nd and 23rd August 2026
