Graduates | Coach Developers

Six Boxing Ireland Coach Developers have graduated from the Sport Ireland Certificate in Sports Coaching Development programme.

They now join almost 20 Boxing Ireland Coach Developers, delivering Boxing Ireland’s Fundamentals: Assistant Coach and Level One: Club Coach qualifications.

The Sport Ireland Certificate in Sports Coaching Development programme is recognised by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and is included on the National Framework of Qualifications as a Level 7 Special Purpose Award in Sports Coach Development (PG24650). Learners who complete the qualification will receive a QQI certificate and 45 credits, which they can use to access Further and Higher Education.

The entire programme is a signficant underaking, and takes between 12 and 18 months to complete.

In 2025, they were supported through the in-house assesment phase of development by Boxing Ireland Education and Training Officer, Nikki Foley (Tralee BC), who is a Sport Ireland Coach Developer Assessor. The assesment stage is required to complete the NGB work placement stage of the qualification. This includes delivery of coach education whilst under evaluation.

Congratulations to all graduates, their families and clubs.
