Central Council is issuing an advisory on travel regulations in light of the number of clubs travelling abroad to compete.
All successfully affiliated clubs travelling abroad for any kind of boxing event are required to obtain permission to travel before departure.
All permissions to travel should be received significantly in advance of the intending departure date.
Application Path
All successfully affiliated clubs must submit their permission to travel in the following order:
1st to the County Board,
2nd to the Provincial Council,
3rd to the National Secretary.
Required Information
All requests for permission to travel must contain the following:
- The names of all boxers, coaches, R&Js and support staff in the travelling party.
- The destination of travel
- The name of the event being attended, and its dates.
Reasons for Refusal
Clubs will be refused permission for reasons including, but not limited to, the below:
- All listed members travelling are not listed on Blocworx, including coaches, R&Js and Team Managers.
- Incorrect name spelling of member’s name, which doesn’t match their registration in Blocworx.
- That those listed as coaches do not have current Garda Vetting/AccessNI checks
- That those listed as coaches do not have a Boxing Ireland coaching qualification.
- That a team which includes underage girls does not include a woman in a leadership position.
- That a team which includes underage boys does not include a man in a leadership position
- That the club applying for permission to travel has not following the correct application procedure.
All applications for permission to travel undergo cross-check based on the above criteria.
If a successfully affiliated club has not received it’s permission to travel letter 7 days before their depature, they should make contact.
