Boxing Ireland’s is the volunteer-led National Governing Body of amateur boxing on the island of Ireland.
Our goal is to translate our keynote success in the ring to success in the administration and growth of our sport – becoming innovative, inclusive and development-focused.
As a volunteer-led organisation and a company limited by guarantee, the organisation of boxing is stewarded by the directly-elected Central Council. The Board of Directors is tasked with originating strategic direction and growing the company. Boxing Ireland the trading name is used by the legal entity, the Irish Athletic Boxing Association.

Central Council
Central Council is the body tasked with administering the sport of boxing, including National Championships, the preparation and selection of underage international teams and oversight of Provincial Councils, County Boards and Clubs.
Central Council is comprised of two directly elected sections serving concurrent two year terms: The Officer Board and the Members.
The Officer Board includes President, Vice President, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Registrar and acts as an advisory body, working and liaising with the Board and CEO on behalf of Central Council.

They are joined by four Provincial Presidents, who are also directly elected by successfully affiliated clubs in their respective regions.
Central Council meetings are held at intervals of not more than three months and at least one per month during the period October to May.
