The draw has taken place for World Boxing Cup China, plotting the path to the podium for Team Ireland’s 9 boxers. They’re among 333 boxers from 44 nations contesting the tournament.
Taking place in Guiyang City from June 15th to 20th, this is the second stage in the 2026 World Boxing Cup series. The series is a benchmark competition run across three tournaments, designed for Elite male and female boxers to accrue ranking points. Champions are awarded 150 points, silver medalists 100 and there are 75 ranking points for bronze medalists.
Team Ireland includes 4 Paris Olympians, multiple European medalists and athletes contesting the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Paris alumni Daina Moorehouse, Jenny Lehane, Dean Clancy and Jack Marley, Monkstown BC, Dublin are contesting. Also returning from the WBC Brazil team are 70kg Evelyn Igharo and Jon McConnell.
Tournament Arrangements
Guiyang City is 7 hours ahead of Ireland, so Morning Sessions will begin at 6am and Afternoon Sessions will get underway at 11am. There is an Evening Session on June 15th, which begins at 1pm, Irish time. There is no rest day at this tournament; preliminaries will be boxed June 15th-19th. All semi finals will take place on June 20th, and all finals and medal ceremonies will take place on June 21st

Day One
Four Team Ireland boxers are in action on the opening day of the tour.
First up for Team Ireland is 60kg Adam Hession. He opens his account at Last 32 stage against Lundaa Gantumur of Mongolia in Bout 2 of Ring B’s Morning Session, at 6:15am
Heavyweight, Paris Olympian Jack Marley takes on Xuezhen Han of China in a Last 16 contest. That’s Bout 7 of Ring A’s Morning Session – at around 7:30am.
Enniskerry’s Paris Olympian, Daina Moorehouse, begins her campaign in Monday’s Afternoon Session. She’s at 51kg Last 32 stage against Korea’s Chorong Bak at 10am.
And Team Ireland’s 80+kg Cliona Darcy begins one win away from a medal. She boxes her quarter final against Kazakhstan’s Dina Islambekova in Monday’s Evening Session, at 2:45pm Irish time.
