The Team Ireland team to contest the 2026 European U17 Championships has been named.
The 18 strong team includes 2025 European U17 medalist, Pat Stokes of Mullingar Shuffler, and last year’s European U15 medalists Thomas O’Reilly, Portlaoise and Ronan Charles, Mullingar Elite BC, alongside 15 national champions – many of whom are 2026 Four Nations medalists. This team has been in High Performance training since mid-August, including an away camp in Galway this weekend.
Up to 40 federations are eligbile to contest these championships, taking place in Budva, Montenegro from October 1st to 11th.
The team is led and managed by Shirley Kenney of Curadh BC, and Gabe Cronnelly of Monivea. The team is coached by Ken Moore, St. Francis BC, Limerick; Damien Flood, Cabra BC, Dublin; Linda Morgan, Arklow BC, Wicklow and Gus Farrell, Monivea BC, Galway. Malachy Scott, Glengormley BC, Antrim, has been appointed R&J.
Competition Schedule
The draw, which sets the path to the podium for each boxer, takes place on the afternoon of Friday, October 2nd. Boxing begins on October 3rd, and all finals will take place on October 10th.
All Afternoon Sessions begin at 12pm, Irish time, and Evening Sessions start at 4pm.
