Olympians, Olympic medalists, World & European medalists will step between the ropes at the National Stadium on Friday for an Internaitonal Test Match between Ireland and France.
This event is part of both federations preparations for international competition, and is the culmination of a 3 day test match camp based predominantly at the Boxing Ireland High Performance Unit on the Sport Ireland campus.
Speaking after the opening day’s test matches, Interim High Performance Head Coach Damian Kennedy said “This is exactly what we need at this time, as we’re preparing for Strandja. There’s a lot of talent in the High Performance Unit here today – we’ve a range of medalists across every major competition. France are always a very competitive bunch. That’s good to see as we build towards Friday’s International.
Two time Olympic champ, Kellie Harrington will box World, European Games and Mediterranean Games medalist, Amina Zidani. Double Olympian, Michaela Walsh boxes European medalist Sthelyne Grosy. Paris Olympian and World bronze medalist Grainne Walsh is in action against Cape Verde’s Nancy Moreira – 2025 World bronze medalist Patsy Joyce steps between the ropes to trade punches with Paris silver medalist Billal Bennama.
Team Ireland Paris Olympians Daina Moorehouse, Jennifer Lehane, Jude Gallagher and Dean Clancy box their test matches against Romane Moulai, Jeyssa Marcel, Lounes Hamraoul and Hugo Grau, respectively.
European silver medalist Caitlin Fryers is in action against World, European and European Games medalist Wassila Ikhardiri and Josh Olaniyan boxes World and European medalist, Yojerlin Cesar
Friday’s International Test Matches begin at 6.30pm.
