Pairings | IRL V SCO International

The pairings, and Team Co-Captains, for the first International of 2026 have been confirmed.

A Boxing Ireland Youth & Juniors team will take on a Scottish select this weekend. Team Ireland is co-captained by Shaun Doolan of Dunfanaghy BC Donegal and  Leah Cairns of Golden Gloves BC, Cork.

The team will fly to Glasgow, and compete, on Saturday February 7th and includes 15 boxers from counties Antrim, Cork, Donegal, Down, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Louth, Meath, Sligo, Tyrone and Waterford.

The team is led and managed by Aine McLoughlin of Spartans BC Cork, and coached by Linda Morgan (Arklow BC Wicklow), Ralph McKay (St. Paul’s BC Antrim) and Garry Kehoe (Marble City BC, Kilkenny). Anthony White of Na Fianna has been appointed as R&J.

Boxing Scotland has confirmed the event will not be live-streamed.

This is a key development opportunity for underage athletes, and is the first international of 2026. The second International of 2026, an Elite International test match series between Ireland and France, will take place at the National Stadium, Dublin, from 6.30pm on Friday February 13th. A total of 9 internationals in the form of single events, return leg competitions or Round Robins took place at Youth, U23 and Elite level in 2025 at locations including Dublin, Derry, Louth and Belfast.
