Results | Boxing Ireland Member Survey

Boxing Ireland has today published the results of its 2026 Member Survey, revealing strong levels of confidence in the organisation while identifying key areas for future development.

The survey, which gathered feedback from 60 member clubs across the country, and 151 individuals, found that 80% of respondents believe Boxing Ireland is a successful National Governing Body, while 60% of clubs feel they receive value for money from their membership.

Members were also asked to rate Boxing Ireland’s performance across six key strategic areas. The organisation of National Championships received the highest rating from respondents, reflecting strong satisfaction with one of the sport’s flagship activities. The boxer development pathway received the lowest score, highlighting a clear area for improvement and future investment.

Key themes emerging from the survey which members completed in January, included a desire for enhanced boxer pathways, increased opportunities for youth development, greater support for clubs, and expanded coach education opportunities.

Boxing Ireland CEO Gary Stewart welcomed the findings and thanked members for their engagement. We are delighted to have received such robust feedback from our members. It is particularly encouraging to see the positive sentiment reflected throughout the survey, but equally important is the honest feedback on where we need to improve,”

He added This survey is an important step in strengthening transparency and ensuring that member voices help shape the future direction of Boxing Ireland. Feedback from our clubs is vital to our development, and we are committed to acting on what we’ve heard.

Initiatives in response to the feedback received are underway, including the development of a comprehensive boxer pathway strategy and the recruitment of Club Support Officers to provide greater assistance to affiliated clubs. Additional projects focused on coach education, medical guidelines, and  internal communications are also being progressed.
