Annual Report | A year of progression & development

Boxing Ireland is sharing it’s Annual Report, highlighting a year of progression, development and collaboration across all pillars of the NGB.

The Annual Report, first made available to clubs attending the AGM on October 3rd, captures key achievements under seven headings: Boxing Competitions, Performance & Pathway, Operations & Development, Commercial & Marketing, Finance & Stadium, Governance & Board.

The report also highlights significant milestones in boxing development, including the return of the Four Nations championship after 20 years, the appointment of Pathway Development Lead Daithi McCabe and Athlete Welfare Officer, Aidan Walsh, in addition to the restructuring of Boxing Ireland’s club development architecture and the appointment of a Head of Club Support and Participation in Rachel Moffet, and of 3 regional Club Support and Participation Managers.

The report highlights Boxing Ireland’s short term aims, including tripling sports capital funding for our community to over €5m, launching afundraising and philanthropy programme to better help support clubs and athletes; publish a participation strategy and lobby government for specific boxing development
funding for our member clubs; developing a National Stadium masterplan and design concept and securing a major sponsor for our sport.

This report also marks the standing-down as Chair of Niall O’Carroll. Niall has sat as Independent Chair of the Board of Directors for 3 years, during which Boxing Ireland affiliated to World Boxing, rebranded and appointed a new leadership team. Niall is succeeded as Chair by CEO of the Mental Health Commission, John Farrelly.
