*The first International of 2026 has ended Ireland 5, Scotland 11, in a key development project for underage boxers. A Boxing Ireland Youth & Juniors team including 16 boxers from counties Antrim, Cork, Donegal, Down, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Louth, Meath, Sligo, Tyrone and Waterford took on a Scottish select in Glasgow on Saturday.

*Boxing Ireland’s hosting of an Elite French team on Friday , in the first home International of the year. Ireland V France test matches will take place at the home of Irish Boxing, the National Stadium Dublin, from 6.30pm on Friday, February 13th.

*29 women, including Olympians Michaela Walsh and Grainne Walsh, have today graduated with a Professional Diploma in Leadership and Management as part of a collaboration between Boxing Ireland and Longford College.

*Boxing Ireland’s Youth Forum has held its first meeting. The forum, for boxers aged 15 to 23,  centres the voices of leaders of the future in the development of our sport.  Forum members are from clubs in  Antrim, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Down, Dublin Galway, Kerry, Leitrim,  Mayo, Tipperary, Wicklow. 

*Boxing Ireland, in partnership with the Dept. of Social Projection, is a Community Employment Scheme sponsor and has been providing employment and opportunities through the scheme for almost two decades. There are several CE Scheme vacancies in the National Stadium which may be of interest to club members, assisting with the set-up of boxing & other events, including turnaround of venues, car park maintenance.
