Boxing Ireland Olympian in pre-Budget Leinster House meeting.

Boxing Ireland Olympian, Grainne Walsh, was among several athletes invited by Senator Evanne Ni Chuilinn to take part in a keynote discussion on sport ahead of the formulation of Budget 2027.

Grainne, Paris Olympian Daniel Wiffin and Paris Paralympian Colin Judge attended a meeting in Leinster House with TDs and Senators under the auspices of the Federation of Irish Sport, focusing on the fact that sport is at the heart of Ireland’s culture, communities, and national identity.

The Federation of Irish Sport continues to advocate for investment in a sector that delivers social, economic and health benefits across every corner of the country.

Grainne, Daniel and Colm’s achievements showcase the power of Irish sport to unite, inspire and create national pride, while the event highlighted the importance of supporting our high-performance athletes while also recognising the volunteers, coaches, administrators and grassroots participants who are the foundation of sport in Ireland.
