Boxing Ireland’s Adam Hession, of Monivea BC, Galway, has been nominated as a candidate in elections to European Boxing’s Athlete’s Commission.
In August, Boxing Ireland invited eligble athletes to self-nominate
The commission, on it’s creation, will aim to represent the views, rights, and interests of elite boxers across Europe, ensuring that athlete perspectives shape policy and the development of the sport.
The candidates are:

Busenaz Sürmeneli, Turkey
Luca Hámori, Hungary
Lewis Richardson, Great Britain
Oshin Tahnee Annick Derieuw, Belgium
Tatjana Obermeier, Germany
Elections are taking place on Thursday, September 24th and Friday September 25th at the European Elite Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Thursday’s ballot will elect the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the commission. The vote on Friday will elect the Athlete’s Commission members.
The European Boxing Election Committee, appointed to oversee these elections, is Garbiñe Ituño González LLM in International Sports Law from ISDE University, Spanish Attorney-at-Law and Stefan Ivanov, Professor in Elections and Electoral Systems from the New Bulgarian University, Election Observer from Transparency International.
